A giant journey
Some places make you want to take your time... like the Causeway Coastal Route. Clinging to Ireland's rugged northern coastline between Belfast city and Derry~Londonderry, this is a glorious mix of remarkable geology, pristine beaches and exhilarating clifftop walks. The scenery is mind-blowingly beautiful – think vast ocean views, rolling green glens, sea arches and butter-coloured coves. And when it comes to epic adventures – there’s no better place, with the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and the Carrick-a Rede rope bridge knocking it out of the park.
But for all its epic sights, it's the smaller experiences on the Causeway Coast that will stay in your memory: edging around a hairpin bend on a craggy headland, eating freshly caught seafood on the beach, and sipping a local whiskey in front of an open fire.
Spectacular sights hang like pearls on a necklace along the Causeway Coast. There’s the crumbling 16th century cliff-edge castle of Dunluce, the iconic Mussenden Temple overlooking Downhill beach, and the dramatic rockface of Fairhead.
You’ll find great little places to eat, beautiful hotels, old whiskey distilleries and magnificent forests.
And when it comes to exhilarating activities, there’s no better place. Discover the real-life locations used as filming hotspots for Game of Throne®, take a walk on the wild side at The Gobbins, and ride the waves out to the ruggedly beautiful island of Rathlin.
